Choosing Staircase Timber

When it comes to a staircase, whether it’s a new build project or stair refurbishment, a lot of questions arises. Which staircase design would suit our home interior, should we go for traditional Achillcontemporary chamfered Boyne or just go for today’s trend – modern Urbana glass staircase? While these questions are first to come to your mind, second most important one is which staircase timber should we choose? There is no one answer to this question. It depends on your home interior design, colour and of course – your budget. We have listed our six stocked timbers for your consideration.

White Oak:

White Oak is very popular premium hardwood timber for joinery, furniture and kitchens. It’s medium-high density, strength, durability and light-brown colour entails quality & luxury and will stand test of time. Although it’s an expensive timber, it has been primary choice for many years. We use European Oak to manufacture stair parts like newel posts, newel bases and spindles. American White Oak is mainly used for handrails, base rails, strings, steps & risers.

Pine (Red Deal):

Imported from Sweden and Finland, pine is a popular choice for stair parts not only because it costs less compared to other timber stair parts, but it also can last as long as hardwood if treated with preservatives. Being in light-beige to yellow colour, it also can be painted to create contemporary, interior matching look. We stock huge variety of pine stair parts in traditional, contemporary & modern staircase designs.
